Do we give our beef cattle antibiotics, hormones or steroids?

We will use antibiotics in situations where it is absolutely necessary to save that animals life. We do not process those steers that have had to receive an antibiotic. We never give our animals steroids or hormones.

Is our beef grass fed?

All of our cattle graze our pastures that are full of native grasses as well as grazing and drinking along the Duchesne river until winter. We offer both grass and grain finished beef. The grain finished beef are given a supplement of grain a couple of months before they are harvested, they are finished with a blend of corn, oats and barley coated in molasses to help give the meat outstanding marbeling and flavor. The grains we use are milled in Utah.

Why is everything frozen?

Freezing meat immediately after processing and packaging also keeps it fresher and protects its quality:

  • Locks in nutrients
    • Freezing meat immediately helps maintain its nutritional quality.
  • Prevents contamination
    • Freezing meat prevents bacteria, mold, and other pathogens from growing.
    • It also protects the meat from contamination during transportation and storage.
  • Lengthens shelf life
    • Frozen meat can last a year or more in a freezer, compared to refrigerated meat which has a limited shelf life.
  • Improves tenderness
    • Freezing meat can tenderize it because the moisture in the cell walls expands when frozen, making the muscle fibers more tender when thawed.

Are our animals processed humanely?
